what’s up, mitten squad? my name is paul and welcome back to anothertop 6 video. in this video, i’ll be going over 6 thingsyou didn’t know about the nintendo game boy. number 6. in 1998, nintendo released an accessory forthe game boy called the game boy camera. the game boy camera took black-and-white pictureswith a resolution of 256x224. the camera could work in conjunction withthe game boy printer to allow users to take photos and print them out.

the camera itself was actually a digital camera. in the 1999 copy of guinness world records, the game boy camera was declared the world’s smallest digital camera. the record has since been broken, obviously. number 5. following world war 2, things between japanand korea weren’t exactly peaceful. as a result, korea would eventually not allowproducts to be imported from japan, but nintendo still wanted to sell the game boy there. so, they licensed it out to hyundai, who soldit in korea under the name mini comboy.

number 4. the last game boy game to be released waspokemon yellow, which was released in the united states on october 19, 1999. further games for the game boy were released, but they were referred to as game boy color games as they could be played on both thegame boy and game boy color. number 3. in 1993, soviet cosmonaut aleksandr serebrovtook his game boy into space with him on his 194 day long mission to mir space station. after he returned to earth, the game boy wasactioned off for $1,220.

it is rumored that serebrov’s gameboy orbitedaround the earth more than 3000 times. number 2. the super game boy was an add-on for the supernintendo that allowed you to play game boy games on your snes. however, the snes wasn’t actually powerfulenough to emulate game boy games. as a result, the super game boy containedall of the internal components of the game boy itself, except the screen. number 1. in 1996, blizzard released diablo, and itwas quickly met with rave reviews.

following diablo’s successful launch, theystarted secretly developing a portable version of diablo called diablo junior, which wasplanned to be released on the game boy color or game boy advance, but the only known versionsof the game are on the game boy, and is an early prototype. the original idea was do something similarto pokemon, releasing 3 versions of the game, each featuring a different playable class. the costs of developing such a game for thegame boy were high, and the project was ultimately abandoned. alright that’s gonna do it for this top6 video about the nintendo game boy.
