Gabite -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Gabite BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Gabite from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card set.  Gabite is a stage 1, fighting type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80.  It has a x2 weakness to grass type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Gabite does not have an Ability and it only has one move called Sand Tomb.  For one fighting energy, this move does 20 damage, plus it makes your opponent's active Pokemon unable to retreat during their next turn.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Gabite is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Gible into play (I reviewed Gible from this set yesterday) and then evolve Gible into Gabite.  Gabite does have a Stage 2 evolution in Garchomp, which I'll be reviewing tomorrow, that you'll probably want to use with this Pokemon line but since I haven't reviewed that card yet, the strategy below will act like Gabite is the final evolution in this line.  So if you read my review of Gible, you'll know that I thought it was a pretty poor Basic Pokemon card, despite having an average HP, low retreat cost, and a move that could attack for one energy card.  I thought it was very poor mainly because it had just the one move and the move couldn't do any damage and could easily be replaced by a Trainer or Supporter card.  So knowing this about Gible and looking at this Gabite card, I can not recommend using this line in a deck without Garchomp.  Just like Gible, this card is too weak, since it only has one move that does little damage.  Plus, this card has a low HP, which will make it get knocked out very easily late in games.  So there really is no strategy to talk about with the first two cards in this line outside of not using them in a deck.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion this is a below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  Other than having a quick attack and a low retreat cost, this card is pretty poor overall.  Gabite can do little damage every turn, only has one move, and has a very low HP.  So together with Gible from this set, I can't give this line higher than a 1 out of 5 rating.
