Swanna -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Swanna BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Swanna from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Swanna is a stage 1, water type Pokemon card, with an hp of 80. It has a x2 weakness to lightning type Pokemon, a -20 resistance to fighting type Pokemon, and a free retreat cost.  Swanna does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Wing Attack and for one colorless energy card this move does 20 damage.  Swanna's second move is called Brave Bird and for three colorless energy cards this move does 80 damage, however this move does do 20 damage to itself.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Swanna is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Ducklett into play (I reviewed Ducklett from this set yesterday) and then evolve Ducklett into Swanna.  If you read yesterday's review of Ducklett, you'll know that I thought that card was a below average Basic Pokemon card.  It was pretty average overall with its solid HP and low retreat cost, and the fact it could do 20 damage a turn for only one energy card, but it was disappointing in that the one move it did have was completely based off of a coin flip.  So knowing this about Ducklett and looking at this Swanna card, this card continues the trend with this line of requiring only colorless energy cards to attack, meaning you could attack faster by using Double Colorless energy cards.  With that being said, it would make the most sense to set this card up on the bench, then when you need to knock out a Pokemon of your opponent's by doing 80 damage or less to it, you could move Swanna into the active Pokemon spot and use Brave Bird, then retreat it for free the next turn.  The reason you'll not want to keep Swanna in the active Pokemon spot for long is that not only does it have a low HP to begin with, but it does damage to itself when using Brave Bird.  So if you're looking for some Pokemon that can attack with any type energy, I would consider using a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family in a deck, but there are definitely better ones out there.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 2 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is a slightly below average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  There are both some positives and negatives on this card, for positives this card uses only colorless energy cards to attack, has two moves, plus has a free retreat cost, unfortunately the negatives on this card outweigh the positives, with a low initial HP, and damage done to Swanna when attacking.  Overall, I would give the line of Ducklett and Swanna from this set a 2 out of 5 rating, the same rating I gave each Pokemon individually.
