Kricketune -- BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Review

Kricketune BREAKpoint Pokemon Card
Pokemon Card Overview:
Today's Pokemon Card Review is of Kricketune from the BREAKpoint Pokemon Card Set.  Kricketune is a stage 1, grass type Pokemon card, with an hp of 90. It has a x2 weakness to fire type Pokemon, no resistance type, and a one colorless energy card retreat cost.  Kricketune does not have an Ability but it does have two moves.  The first move that this card has is called Screech, for one colorless energy card this move increases damage done to the defending Pokemon during your next turn by 60.  Kricketune's second move is called Slash and for one grass energy card this move does 40 damage.

Pokemon Card Strategy:
So as far as strategy goes, since Kricketune is a stage 1 Pokemon card, you'll first have to get Kricketot into play (I reviewed Kricketot from this set yesterday) and then evolve Kricketot into Kricketune.  If you read yesterday's review of Kricketot, you'll know that I thought it was a below average Basic Pokemon card on its own, but used with Kricketune can be better since you could use Kricketot for a turn, get three grass type Pokemon into your hand, then evolve Kricketot.  So knowing this about Kricketot and looking at this Kricketune card, the strategy I stated with Kricketot works perfectly with this Kricketune card.  You could start the game with Kricketot in the active Pokemon spot, use its move to get Pokemon in your hand, then evolve Kricketot into Kricketune and use Slash right away if the defending Pokemon will be knocked out by 40 damage or 80 damage in two turns, if not, use Screech the first turn and Slash the second, knocking out most Basic Pokemon out there by doing 100 damage in a turn.  In a grass type deck, I could see using a 1-1 line of this Pokemon family.

Pokemon Card Rating:
I would give this card a 4 out of 5 rating.  In my opinion, this is an above average Stage 1 Pokemon card from the BREAKpoint set.  There is really nothing to complain about on this card, it has an average HP, low retreat cost, and two quick hitting moves, that work well together and can end up doing 100 damage a turn, or 50 damage on average.  So considering both Kricketot and Kricketune from this set, I would give the two of them a 4 out of 5 rating and recommend looking at this line when building a grass type deck.
